As the rap pundits of the new millennium found themselves infatuated by the fringe and strange, the L.A.-raised duo of Thes One and Double K elected to clapback through the raps. In strict adherence to the mathematics of the true and living - crates, chops, rhymes, repeat - People Under the Stairs crafted their seminal O.S.T. album to function as an open question: are beats and rhymes still enough for good hip-hop?
