Album Overview & History
Recording Date: July 14, 1967, at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
Original Status: Though recorded in 1967, the session was initially shelved before parts leaked or emerged later in different international formats (such as a Japanese release) and a 1970s double-LP "twofer" set.
1995 Significance: The 1995 Blue Note Connoisseur Series reissue marked the very first time the core 1967 session appeared properly on compact disc (as well as a standalone audiophile 180g LP pressing mastered from original analog tapes)
